Determined bidding from clients in the saleroom, on telephones, and online resulted in an outstanding sold rate for a mixed vendor sale of 110% by value and 76% by volume, showing the depth of demand across all categories.

Results were led by stellar performances by artists including Howard Arkley, Charles Blackman, Rosalie Gascoigne, and Sidney Nolan, with a new world auction record established for Nicholas Harding.

Smith & Singer continue to lead the art auction market in Australia with sales exceeding $40 million for the year.  The figure augments the extensive private sales and international consignments Smith & Singer have transacted to date in 2023.
