PROPERTY FORMERLY FROM THE COLLECTION OF MRS ANNA THOMSON DODGE, MICHIGAN
veneered in kingwood à quatre faces, crossbanded and with fillets, the sides of serpentine form with recessed back angles and inlaid with lozenge-shaped panels to the sides, containing two drawers and a shaped apron in the serpentine front, on shaped cabriole legs, the handles and lock plates to the drawers in ormolu finely cast and chased with scrolling foliage and rococo motifs, the apron mount as a scrolled and foliate asymmetrical shell and the mounts to the knees and the sabots cast and chased as cabochons, scrolling foliage and overlapping scale motifs, surmounted by a rouge royale marble slab veined with white and grey and with shaped moulded borders
