The Maserati BiTurbo range was discrete but by no means anonymous. Luxurious and fast it soon became a cult object after its debut at the end of 1981. It was offered in various forms for well over a decade and became an important link between the heritage of the early Trident classics like the 250F Formula One car and those cars that continue to sport the badge of this great marque today.
This Australian delivered 1994 Maserati 222 SR is in good order, well maintained and with low mileage. It is a fine example of the coupe with its softer look and more rounded corners than that of the original BiTurbos. Featuring the 2.8 litre supercharged engine with two IHI turbo compressors and Weber multipoint electronic injection, the 222 SR was capable of some 225 kph.
