comprising three maroon document boxes inscribed 'Colleen McCullough' in gold embossed lettering, the first containing the original complete manuscript, title page to page 331 (page 171 not used), including mainly editorial annotations and some author annotations; the second document box containing an annotated first draft screenplay (some page numbers duplicated and out of sequence), associated notes and a bound second draft screenplay; and the third document box containing two copies of a letter to Andrew Martin dated Tuesday 1 September 1981 outlining a critique of Michael Pate's screenplay, two copies of Colleen McCullough's first draft screenplay and two copies of Colleen McCullough's third draft screenplay

Condition Report
Manuscript: light yellowing in throughout and isolated spotting in places; annotations in ink throughout; pages confirmed. Screenplay: some spotting to handwritten cover page; annotations in felt pen to unbound draft; isolated creases and bends to pages; various loose pages annotated in pencil; spotting to the cover page of the bound screenplay and rust marks to the front and back page associated with the deterioration of the metal binding. Further screenplay copies and correspondence: scattered spotting throughout; two copies of correspondence and two copies of the screenplay housed in an envelope with handwritten inscription to the front (some spotting to the envelope).
