The Porsche 911 has had many variants since it was first introduced in 1964. The 993 replaced the 964 and was produced between 1993 and 1998. The 993 Carrera RS is the lightweight version of the Carrera with a naturally aspirated 3.8 litre engine. The RS was produced in 1995 and 1996. Weight saving measures included removing headlight washers and rear seats, whilst special lightweight seats and door panels were utilized. Less sound proofing is also in evidence in the RS. The RS Clubsport is an even more extreme variant with welded roll cage and a larger rear spoiler. The 993 RS as with all the Porsche 911 models is perhaps the most desirable and collectable of the production run due to the low number of original units built. There were only just over 1000 RS cars built in total.

The 993 RS shed over 100kg in weight on the standard Carrera, and was the first Porsche to receive the new 3.8 litre engine which was capable of 277kmh. It is believed that there were just 47 original right hand drive 993 Carrera RS cars built by the factory.

This rare and collectable 993 RS Clubsport was delivered new to Dr Ma Chi Min of Kowloon by the Porsche Centre, a member of the Jebsen Motor Group, on the 1st July 1995. The car currently resides in New Zealand and is with its second NZ owner. It has had a new clutch fitted and is fully serviced with a full history.

This car which is part of a significant private collection is in excellent condition throughout and has travelled less than 47,000 kilometres. The car is available for viewing in Auckland where it will remain for the auction.
