In 1966 a convertible version of the newly introduced Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was announced. A completely new model of chassis less construction, the Shadow Convertible was immediately popular in open and closed form as was its Bentley equivalent, the new “T” Series.

In 1971 the Corniche series was introduced with several technical improvements including cruise control and ventilated disc brakes. Brake horsepower was up because of a larger exhaust pipe diameter and new camshaft and a less restrictive air-cleaner providing perhaps a 10% increase in power output.

Finished in burgundy with a black top and black interior, this example has been in the ownership of its enthusiastic and knowledgeable owner since 1987.

We are advised that the engine was rebuilt by R.A. McDermott c15 years ago and that the convertible top with accompanying head lining was replaced also. Much service history is available for inspection, it is noted that the car passed through the hands of leading Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists H.R. Owen in London in 1980.
