In 1948 the 356 became the first sports car to bear the Porsche name. This was the forerunner to the incredible 911, which launched in 1963, and through various iterations still appears today. The history of Porsche is rich with a succession of motor racing victories including Le Mans, Paris-Dakar, Grands Prix, Targa Florio, Daytona and of course the Nurburgring.

Porsche, and the Porsche 911, has always been recognised for its engineering and technical proficiency and performance. One of the rarest vehicles in the 911 lineage is the 964 Turbo 3.6. The six-cylinder, five speed manual Turbo 3.6 produce 265 kW or 360HP at 5500 rpm. Top speed is recorded by Porsche as 280 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and covering a kilometer in a blistering 23.3 seconds. This 911 was only made for a very limited time and in very limited numbers. Indeed it is believed that only 83 cars in total were built in right hand drive – of these, 42 were delivered new in the UK, whilst just ten came to Australia.

This original right hand drive car was one of the ten certified by Porsche delivered new to Australia. The delivery date of Chassis Number WP0ZZZ96ZPS470267 was the 7th of July 1993. It has resided with just its fourth owner for the last ten years in NSW. The first owner was Hamilton’s Pty Ltd of Victoria; the second and third owners were also Victorian based. When new, this actual vehicle was featured on the covers of Motor Magazine in October 1993 and January 1994 to rave reviews. Copies of these articles are available and come with the car.

Fitted with factory option full black leather interior this car is unique in Australia in that it is believed to be the only car in the special Wimbledon Green Metallic colour. The car with Porsche Ownership Certificate is in absolutely pristine condition having covered less than 52,000 kilometers since new.

Major work was carried out by Porsche to replace the clutch and seals in 2003. A Porsche warranty inspection was carried out in February of this year identifying just a very few minor blemishes and bearing testimony to the outstanding quality and condition of this rare and desirable automobile. It comes with its original stamped books including Driver’s Manual, and Guarantee and Maintenance Manual in its Porsche wallet. New to the market for the first time this century, this is an outstanding opportunity to purchase a most collectable 911.
