FORMERLY THE PROPERTY OF LINDSAY FOX

Dr Ferdinand Porsche can truly be placed in the top group of car designers, with models dating back to the turn of the century. Austro-Daimler, Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union all produced cars designed under his direction. His son Ferry Porsche continued in his father’s footsteps, reviving the concept of a light aerodynamic sporting car based on Volkswagen components, which still exists today as the Porsche 911. This example of the rare 1989 911 Speedster was acquired by the vendor in March 2005 at the Lindsay Fox sale in Melbourne, at which time the odometer reading was 3,475 kilometres. It now shows just 5,443 kms.

When delivered by the Melbourne agents Hamiltons it was specified with a short gear lever, alarm and the luggage compartment trimmed in black velour and the option number 491, “Turbo Look” equipment, with wide body and turbo tail. This fabulous Speedster featured in an extensive article in NZ Classsic Car magazine in October 2005, Vol 15 No 10, #178. This is an opportunity to purchase a Speedster in effectively “as new” condition. The vehicle at present resides with only its second owner in New Zealand.

This modern classic can be viewed by appointment in Auckland where it will remain for the auction.
